I road tripped all the way out from the West Coast for HONK! this year, and now I'm back home on my little island trying to round up all the local horn players to make some noise!
I'm glad you thought it was a traditional Romany tune. It is in fact an original composition (one of the few BLO originals), a tribute to Roma music and culture. We actually call it "Roma-Rama".
They are up around New York City at various intersections and other places where people honk their horns incessantly. I also have a photo of one where someone has cleverly removed the "D" so it says "except for anger" which is probably more likely to happen anyway!
